The Amador County Community Band was
established on the evening of September 10, 2001, and is comprised of about 30 local
musicians. We rehearse at 7:00 pm every Monday night at Amador High School Band
Room, in Sutter Creek and are looking for people who play or have played band instruments in the past.
There are no try-outs.
Welcome our new director, Steve Chambers. Steve will "pick up the baton" upon the band's return from D.C. Steve is no newcomer to band leading. He leads the Speakeazy Jazz Orchestra and a big band in Gilroy, and with his brother Jeff, the Pick up the Baton music program in Pioneer. Under Steve's direction, the band will continue to grow and improve. Who knows where we're heading next! Now is a good time to climb on board. We'll be rehearsing all new music Monday, June 28th, at 7pm in the Amador High School band room. This in no way means Ernie Kapphahn is leaving the band, he will continue on as a "player". Ernie spend the last 9 years directing the ACC Band and building it up to what it is today. On May 30th, 2010, during our Memorial Day weekend performance, Ernie received a "Thank you" plaque from the band. COME BLOW YOUR HORN WITH US!You may listen to our recent performances on the About Us - The Music Page
The conductors and all musicians are unpaid volunteers, performing for their love of music and the appreciation of their audience. All donations go toward the purchase of additional music and the cost of insurance required for the use of practice facilities.
